  • What is the process for getting a removable denture made?

Generally, a dental impression or mould is made and based on whether there are teeth present or missing, a denture is custom designed by us and fabricated in a dental laboratory. A colour match of your existing teeth is made.

Once fabricated, the dentures are inserted and maintenance care instructions are provided.

Removable Dentures Brisbane

Why removable dentures in Brisbane?

Removable dentures are the perfect choice for replacing missing teeth. Missing teeth can significantly impact daily life, such as eating or speaking. Unlike dental implants, which are fixed in place, removable dentures can be removed and reinserted into the mouth by the patient later.

Dentures are suitable for patients with missing teeth who want removable treatment options. Usually, the denture is suitable when bone health is not ideal for a dental implant.

Zen Dental Studio offers the following types of dentures: Full and Partial Dentures.

  • Complete denture –Often suited for full teeth clearance. It includes upper and lower dentures.
  • Partial Denture – Suited for a few left teeth.
  • Implant-supported Dentures: Implant-supported Dentures are surgically placed into the jawbone. They enhance chewing efficiency and feel more natural than traditional dentures.
  • Implant-Retained Denture:  This is removable compared to Implant-supported dentures. It is better than traditional dentures.

At Zen Dental Studio, we proudly offer top-tier Removable Dentures at an affordable cost in critical locations across Queensland, such as Brisbane, Kedron, Aspley, Carseldine, McDowall, Everton Park, Chermside West, and Zillmere.

What are Dentures Made of?

They are made of as per their durability, aesthetics, and comfort. These materials include:

Acrylic Resin

It is commonly used to create the denture base. It can be colour-matched to the patient's gums for a natural appearance, and it is very lightweight and easy to adjust.

Porcelain or Acrylic Teeth

These are made of porcelain or acrylic. This material is durable, stain-resistant, and customisable.

Metal Alloys

Metal alloys, such as cobalt-chromium or titanium, are used in partial or implant-supported dentures. They provide good strength and stability to the denture.

Flexible Resins

They provide more comfort because they reduce the risk of irritation or sore spots on the gums. They are made of thermoplastic material like nylon.

Longevity of Denture

Traditionally, removable dentures last 5 to 7 years. If you prefer implant-supported options, they can last more than ten years. Regular dental checkups and maintenance are essential for dentures’ extended durability. A dental professional should promptly address any sign of damage or changes in the fit to prevent further complications and maintain oral health.

Alternative Options to Dentures

The two most common options available are dental implants and dental bridges.

A dental Implant is suitable when you require a complete restoration. It can also last for several years. Dental implants are superior to dentures or removable bridges. They are also more effective and functionally superior.

Dental Bridges are one or more artificial teeth supported by dental crowns placed adjacent to natural teeth. They are used to bridge the gap left by missing teeth and are also fixed in place permanently. It is most suitable for one or more missing teeth replacement.
