    Sports guards, also called mouth guards, are protective guards that are placed in the mouth when playing any contact sport. They are important as they help prevent extensive damage to the teeth and gums in case of an injury or blow to the face.

  • Which sports require sports guards?

    Any person playing contact sports should have a sports guard on. This could include sports such as AFL, rugby, martial arts, boxing, kickboxing, basketball, hockey, water polo, lacrosse, netball, baseball, softball, squash, soccer, BMX bike riding, horse riding, skateboarding, in-line skating, trampolining, cricket, water skiing and snow ski racing.

  • Are there different types of mouth guards?

    At Zen Dental Studio, we make custom mouthguards after taking an impression(mould) of patient’s teeth. Depending upon the type of sport, we can make bilaminar(2 layered) or trilaminar(3 layered) mouthguards for added safety. These can be further customised with choices of colour, engravings and further customisation.
